Productivity Music
I am lucky enough to be able to listen to music while I work, and even more fortunate enough to be able to choose what music I listen to.
Sometimes this helps, and sometimes it doesn't. There are times when I get too distracted by the music and then there are times when it helps me focus.
What type of music do you find most helpful for productivity? Any artists in particular?
Electronic
Klaus Schulze
tangerine dream esp phaedra, rubicon, richochet are my favorites.
Trance
Stuff by Nik Fish, Bexta mixology series, the british platipus series. Hard NRG (yellow especially, its available from amazon.)
trance is dance music so it might be distracting too. depends on what you're doing.
Classical music
Handels water music and fireworks are really good for work.
I find Mozart very bland, but its good background music.
Beethoven is just too good so impossible to listen to without getting distracted by it.
I think I have a little bit of ADD because I can't seem to focus on work and listen to music at the same lol. If I really like the music and I'm into it, then more than likely I won't be able to concentrate on my work.
I would suggest instrumental music or music that is not your favorite genre so that you won't be distracted.
Sometimes what I do is listen to free online radio stations at work - particularly those that are in different countries so I'll here music that's new to me.
Hope this helps and best of luck!
Kim :)
