Best Places to Take a 2-3 Day Vacation

My wife and I are looking to take a weekend type vacation and we want to know where we should go.

We live in Phoenix, and have spent some time in Minnesota, Texas, California, Florida, Nevada, etc.

We like places that have constant action.  For example, we really enjoy Las Vegas because there are endless things to do.

Some of our mutual interests are:  music, hiking, fishing, boating, working out, hunting, history, etc.

Please provide a list of the top 5 cities that you think are great for a weekend vacation (2-3 days).

Also, please explain where we should stay and why along with any info you may have about places/landmarks we should try to see.
