Spending Time Online
I remember the days when I could spend unlimited time online. Now I feel like I spend enough time sitting in front of the computer for work that as soon as I log on I am bored.
That may be an improvement, but there are definitely times I would like to be amused by the endless content of the internet. The trouble is: I find myself almost incapable of "surfing" these days. I log on, check my Facebook and one or two other daily sites and I'm done.
So my question to you: what do you do on the internet for fun? Help a fellow geek out who seems to be losing his edge...
Prize goes to whoever writes the best comment expanding on their vote.
Also, on the sites I already "love", I go to the "links" section on their sites to see what sites they suggest - which often lead to great sites...and endless hours of surfing :)
Hope this helps :)

I socialize online, make business contacts online, earn (some) money online, pay my bills online, I've taken courses online. It seems like the only things I can't actually do on the Internet are exercise and eating. Soon, there may be a way.
Other times I just stop doing what I normally do, like checking email and visiting social sites. Instead I chase after whatever interest me at the moment. It may concern health, history, science or whatever. I research it for myself, I take no notes, join nothing, download nothing and do not sign up for anything. Sort of like taking a joy ride without collecting any souvenirs.

I email family & friends & work.
Twitter for socializing, retweeting what I learned or feeling socially involved, as in discussing politics. Also learning stuff.
I like to feel like I am making a difference in the world, for the better.
New York times. To read politics and their science section is pretty good too.
I *comment* on stories and check their pictures of the day and other pictures.
Wikipedia for entertainment. I love learning stuff. Whether its how transfats work or how to grow daffodils... also often useful for work.
I have no interest in facebook.
I can spend hours on end online checking all of my emails and social media networks, but where I spend most of my time is on Twitter making money!!
I work with several companies tweeting ads and I'm a member of an Ad-Clicking team who clicks on other peoples' ads.
This really takes up a fair amount of time, because I'm updating my ads daily and also visiting my teammates "Favorites" lists to check out their deals!
I've made several hundred dollars so far and there are some very legit companies out there that pay you via PayPal very quickly. One of my favorite sites is MyLikes, because you earn for clicking on your own ads before you post them, and you get money sent to your PayPal account every Friday!
Check out my blog post to learn about all of the great social media sites out there that I work with to earn some extra cash!

Have fun surfing!
