I am writing an article about the favorite character from any book you have ever read.

The character should be fictional but can be from any genre of writing.

Tell me who you like and why.

Hermione from all the Harry Potter books. I easily identify with her. I wasn't quite as serious about studies as she was, but I was always reading and wanting to learn . . . and I'm still that way. I'd often read ahead in my textbooks just because there were things I wanted to read. I still read and learn things in order to do my job - which is writing - which tend to be educational articles!

Disney characters are the easiest to describe why they are so appealing and favorable. Growing up with that classic animation, I remember playing Beauty and the Beast about 5 times a day. My mother said I would rewind after it reached the credits, I would sing to each of the songs, and was a fan of Belle because she wasn't a princess, but a normal girl who got what she wanted: Adventure, a life away from a boring, "provincial" town life. She got it, and befriended a Beast who became her love in the end. I guess fairytales aren't so far off from real life--I was fortunate enough to gain adventure from my partner who I didn't like at all at the time. We are still together until this day.

Hope this helps-- :]

I will always love Huckleberry Finn. Not only is the story entertaining, but it teaches a very valuable lesson:people are not their color, they are just people. Those who read the book and remember it was written back when slavery & racism were considered a simple fact of life, will understand how hard it was for this boy to come to grips with discovering most of the myths he was tAUGHT AS CHILD HAD NO BASIS IN FACT.

I would have to say that mine is a toss up.

On the one hand, you have Bilbo Baggins, the lovable hobbit dragged into an adventure by Gandalf and the dwarves in JRR Tolkien's precursor to The Lord of the Rings. He is honorable, humorous, and not without his flaws. An excellent, relatable hero for a fantasy work.

On the other, I suggest Dean Moriarty from Jack Kerouac's On the Road. He is based off the real Neal Cassidy, but his story is so ridiculous that certain parts must be a work of fiction, such as the time he got so worked up at a jazz performance that he just went out on the town and started stealing cars left and right just for the fun of it.

His defining moment comes when he is kicked out by his wife along with his friend Sal Paradise (Kerouac). He stands with only one suitcase of all his possessions in one hand, bandages around a wounded other hand. He turns to Sal and says, "Ah, my friend, don't worry. Everything is perfect and wonderful."
