Balancing work during holidays

This is my first holiday season working from home.

Any advice on how to keep up with work, which pretty much never stops, and balancing holiday festivities and family time? I don't want to fall too far behind, but I also don't want to spend my entire "break" trapped in my office with my computer.

Let your family know your "strategy" for working during the holidays and let them help you be accountable. For example, are you going to work some each day? Take at least one day with NO work? You can also communicate with your clients to let them know. By doing this you set a good example for the world about life/work balance.
