How do you get your news?
Part of my job for the Maryland Public Policy Institute is staying up on current events so that I can write/comment about them.
I have my own method for doing this. I am signed up for a few newsletters, follow local and national news outlets on Twitter, and check a few news aggregator websites each day.
My question is: are there other, better ways? How do you stay up on current events?
I will select the winner based on who gives the most thoughtful response about why they get their news the way they do.
and i check news.google.com
once in a day.
I never deal with newspapers because they spin, one way or the other, thus I never feel I get a complete picture; at least with just a headline it can be less of a bias!
With RSS feeds I can get my news in one place from a wide range of sources (I use google reader). This way I choose my sources and have them filter into one stream - quick and easy. This way I get news quickly efficiently and in two places only - twitter and google reader.
