We have another portfolio company at Wasabi Ventures that we would like to hear your thoughts about.

"tektrak is a company based in Los Angeles, CA. Our mission is to eliminate the pain (both in your heart and in your wallet) and trouble associated with losing your phone. We developed an application for the iPhone, to do just that."

Questions:

I like the concept and the pitch. I think this is a very useful application. I have four children 2 of which are now adults, they all lose their phones often and a few of my co-workers have lost their phones at parties or clubs and never find them again. The iphone is very hard to insure and the one company that offer coverage for $30 per year is changing the their policy to not cover cell phones. Also, insurance claims for small items gets marks on your overall insurance record and could make you ineligible for coverage on your home. Wouldn't that suck! This is great preventative maintain, protection recovery at a super reasonable cost. Only two small complaints, not everybody owns an Iphone and the site offers two free uses but the widget appears to be inactive.
