Turn on the radio and go to random stations. Name that song game. It is truly a never ending game. Millions of possibilities. You can also bring a CD or mix tape of old school tunes, and try to see if they can guess who is the artist and what the name of the song is.

I-Spy, 21 Questions, Mad Libs, license plate games, alphabet games(my favorite one is you have to find words on signs that start w/ the letters of the alphabet in order), punch buggy, but w/ a point system instead of punching, Alphabet games w/ names are fun, First letter, last letter, Trivia games w/ a point system.

- Roadside bingo

- See who can spot the most out of state license plates

- Take the letters on license plates and have them make something up for it
ex: 545GTP = Game To Play

- There are a lot of board games made in travel size

- Make a list of various things such as cows, barns, windmills, horses, birds.... Give each item a certain amount of points for each time they see one. First one to yell it out gets the points

- Imagination hide and seek. Have the kids pretend their still at home and hiding somewhere in the house. They have to give clues to where they are and see if someone else can guess.

- Madlibs are always fun

- Distance guessing. Spot something off in the distance that you will be passing and have them guess how far away they think it is. Check by your odometer and closest wins.

-Pick a color and see who can spot more items of that color over so much time.

This sounds like a wonderful trip! How about pronunciation games? Towns with place names like Chincoteague, Calais will be entertaining and will also get your kids interested in the towns you are about to visit. Then you can get your kids to ask one of the locals how they pronouce the town's name - you'll be surprised!

We used to do the alphabet game: names that start from a-z [boys then girls], animals, tools, different categories. Word association games are interesting, we get really wild things...!

We play a game of "I Spy" on trips. I will call out an object to look for, such as a red car, or a bird. We don't keep points, but you could. We also use the alphabet sometimes. Looking for letters in alphabetical order on billboards or wherever you can find them, such as license plates.
And, one other game we play is story telling. I will start the story with one sentence or a few words and each person in the car, will in turn add an additional sentence. That can turn out to be truly hilarious!
