Deficit or Unemployment
Is the deficit or the high level of unemployment more worrisome for you with the U.S. economy?
While the deficit is an extremely serious issue that will affect us long into the future, I think that unemployment is more worrisome at this time because of the negative impact it has on the health of the economy and the quality of life of the American people.

kwistred is right. I would go even further to say that deficits and surpluses on the national level are completely fallacious, even though the numbers may come from real budgeting. We may always have a deficit, but at the same time, our citizens are capable of work and often find it or create it themselves. If the latter component fails, we're REALLY in trouble.

We have a real problem in this country. Trickle down economics is a fallacy, corporations are posting record profits yet unemployment is still high. End tax cuts to help repay the deficit. But people need employment so they can live, to keep them busy, they can pay tax and have self-respect.

If our government defaults on a debt for the first time that won't be a good thing, and it won't really matter if you have a job or not if things start to unravel because China is knocking on our doors to collect all the bonds they've been buying from us recently...
