Catching as catch can
A while ago I wrote a short list of what I had learned about keeping up with work while on vacation:

Now I am both busier and more seriously involved in my work, meaning that taking vacations will probably only be more difficult (and will probably also get even more so).
What are your tips for keeping up with work while on the road? Any essential tools of the trade I'm missing?
It's exhausting getting all of your work done(that you can do) in advance and then having to catch up after you get back from vacation. Ideally, you need to have an assistant or other capable employee handle your work while you are away. If you must do some work on vacation, try to have as much of it automated as possible and have your assistant inform you when something important pops up that truly requires your input. Prioritize what's truly important. We tend to do a lot of busy work that won't really matter in the long run.
